About Us.

Our Mission (How We Accomplish our Vision)

Back to Basics
In 1929, the fundamentalist/modernist controversy raged in churches over whether the Bible was completely true and accurate. This debate caused a split in Humber Bay Baptist Church, located at Aldgate and Ringley. Some families felt they had to leave the church and start a new one that believed the Bible is completely accurate in all it asserts.
Soon, the new church built a building at the corner of Park Lawn Road and Ringley Drive (now the Knights of Columbus building). Attendance overflowed and many came to know Park Lawn Road Baptist Tabernacle as their church home.
Near the end of the 1960's, Park Lawn was experiencing a new problem: they were running out of space. A new building was constructed at Park Lawn and Doddington Drive, our current location today.
For over 80 years, Park Lawn has seen the community change drastically from an area full of market gardens, to a high-density area with urban challenges. It has survived, and sometimes thrived, under numerous pastors and members. And it is our conviction that the best years of its history are yet to come.
